CHANGE not JAIL

Good day explorers! I’m baaaaack! For today I’ll share to all of you what I have watched yesterday. I’ve watched 5 different videos: news, documentary and a music video, but all of these videos tackles about one topic, it is all about the Juvenile Delinquency.

To understand further about this topic, first I’ll explain to you what is juvenile delinquency. Juvenile Delinquency is the habitual committing of criminal acts or offenses by a young person, especially one below the age at which ordinary criminal prosecution is possible. That’s why Juvenile Anti-Discrimination Law Republic Act 9344 has made, it is made to cover the different stages involving children at risk and children in conflict with the law from prevention to rehabilitation and reintegration.

JUVENILE DELINQUENCY
SOLVENT KIDS

It is somehow related to my passion because as traveller, you need to be alert in your surroundings, especially when you are commuting. You need to be more aware of the people surrounds you because things may got stolen from you in just a snap. So that’s why you need to secure your belongings when you travel especially in crowded places because crime can be done everywhere.

Even if these videos are posted a year ago or so, it’s still related in our present issues. These minors done such things because of poverty. They do crimes to survive for a day, the money that they will get from what they stole is their money to buy food. They think it is the only way to earn money because some of them got influenced by bad persons and most of them are not nurtured by their own parents and abandoned them.

POVERTY

In 16 years of my existence, I have not encountered such crimes and I hope it will never happen to me. As a student who live pretty far from school, it is hard because I need to commute everyday to be able to attend our class. Everyday, I commute through tricycle and jeepney and these videos taught me to be mindful and alert when commuting especially in jeepneys because jeepneys are open and it is a better target for snatchers.

I have learned a lot in these videos. I have realized that these children need to be rehabilitated not imprisoned because we need to help them realize the bad things that they’ve done in the past and also help them to become a better person other than putting them behind the bars. They need person who can nurture them with discipline and teach them good deeds.

I will highly recommend these video to all of you. This can help us understand the topic. Also, understand the situation of these minors why they’ve done these things. If you want to watch I will put the link below. And follow me to see more of these. That’s all for today’s blog, hope to see you soooon💙💙. Keep safe everyone💙

I hope you watch these videos especially, the music video. I felt very emotional after watching these videos. In the music video you’ll see the point of view of these children, you’ll see the reason why they did such things and this music video has a message to everyone that these children has the chance to change and live a better life after this obstacles that they’ve experienced.
